Day 1 : Sana’a and surrounding.
Morning sightseeing tour in and around Sana’a. Visit to the National Museum. Lunch in Sana’a. P.M. Drive to Wadi Dhahr to visit “Dar al Hajjar” the summer residence of Imam Yahya , restored in the 1930’s. Return to Sana’a for a tour in the Old City , the “Bab al Yemen” and the medieval “Souq ” - market . Dinner and overnight ( o/n ) in Sana’a.

Day 2 : Sana’a - Manakha - al Hajjarah - Hoteib - Sana’a.
Morning departure to the mountain village of Manakha. On to al Hajjarah , the fortified medieval village. Lunch in al Hajjarah. P.M. Excursion to al Hoteib , the famous pilgrimage centre for the Dawoudi Bohra (Ismaili) Moslems of India. Return to Sana’a. Dinner and o/n in Sana’a.

Day 3 : Sana’a - Amran - Hajjah - Kohlan - Sana’a.
Morning drive to the fortified village of Amran. Drive on to Hajjah through terraced landscape. Lunch in Hajjah. P.M. Return to Sana’a via Kohalan , a small mountaintop village. Dinner and o/n in Sana’a.

Day 4 : Sana’a - Barakesh - Marib - Sana’a.
Drive to Marib to the archaeological sights , via Barakesh the capital of the Maeen kingdom. Lunch in Marib. Sightseeing of the old and new dams , the throne of Bilquis , the sun temple and the ancient city of Marib. Drive back to Sana’a. Dinner and o/n in Sana’a.

Day 5 : Sana’a - Kawkaban - Shibam - Hababah - Thula - Sana’a.
Full day excursion to Kawkaban , a village built on the most inaccessible mountain side. Trek down to Shibam (45 min.). Lunch in Shibam. P.M. Continue to Hababa . Drive on to Thula a town of stone tower houses with it’s unique cisterns . Return to Sana’a. Dinner and o/n in Sana’a.
